Safety & moderation
The standards we hold StudioHQ to, how to report a problem, and what happens next.
1.Our commitment
StudioHQ is used by developers building games for an audience that includes a very large number of children. That shapes how we moderate. We have no tolerance for content or behaviour that endangers a minor, and we will act on it immediately.
StudioHQ is an independent tool and is not operated by Roblox, but we expect the teams building on StudioHQ to meet the same standards Roblox sets for its community, and we enforce those standards inside our own pages and records.
2.Community standards
Every studio, project and public page on StudioHQ must stay inside these lines:
- Respect people. No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or targeting anyone for who they are.
- No sexual content, and absolutely no content that sexualises, grooms, exploits or endangers a minor. Content of that kind is reported to the appropriate authorities and leads to permanent termination.
- No doxxing. Do not post another person’s full name, address, school, phone number, private social accounts or private photographs.
- No violence, gore, or content promoting self-harm.
- No malware, remote access tools, token grabbers, cheats, exploits, or tools that bypass Roblox security or harm a player’s account or device.
- No stolen or pirated assets, models, plugins, scripts or accounts, and no reselling of work you do not own.
- No scams or deceptive offers, including fake Robux or limited item sites, account trading, fake giveaways, and monetisation designed to mislead children.
- No gambling services, or promotion of them, aimed at players of any age.
- No impersonation of another developer, studio, company, or of StudioHQ and Roblox staff.
- Keep reports honest. Do not file a report to harass someone or to gain a commercial advantage.
3.Keeping younger developers safe
- StudioHQ is for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, use it with the knowledge and permission of a parent or guardian.
- Keep personal information out of your profile, your project records and public submissions. Describe your craft, not your street address, school or personal life.
- Studios working with younger members should not require them to share personal details, and should not create private channels between adults and minors.
- If your project needs voice acting, testing or moderation from younger community members, use the platform tools and guardian-visible channels that the platforms provide, not private contact.
- Adults must never ask a minor on StudioHQ for private contact details, photographs or a move to another platform. That behaviour is reported and the account is removed.
4.Public pages
Public community pages are moderated. Submissions that identify a minor, contain contact details, or break the standards above are removed. Personal information is not required to read any public page, and we ask developers not to put it into public submissions.
5.How to report a problem
- Use the contact form and choose Safety concern as the topic.
- Tell us what happened, where it happened with a link to the studio, project or page if you have one, when it happened, and who was involved.
- Attach or describe any screenshots, messages or records that help. Keep the original if you can.
- You may report without leaving your email address, and we will still review the report, but we cannot come back to you with questions or an outcome if you do not leave a way to reach you.
- If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, then tell us.
Reports involving the safety of a child are prioritised, escalated within our team, and reported to the appropriate authorities, including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the United States where the law requires it.
6.Where else to report
- For conduct inside a Roblox experience, in a Roblox community of any kind, or on a Roblox account, use the report tools Roblox provides on its own website and in its apps. Roblox can act on its platform in ways we cannot.
- For threats of violence or criminal behaviour, contact your local law enforcement.
- For online fraud, scams or stolen accounts, in the United States you can also report it to the Internet Crime Complaint Center run by the FBI.
7.How we moderate
- We review the report, the records involved, and the audit log of the account or studio, and we contact the account holders when we need to understand what happened.
- Possible outcomes include: no action, with an explanation where it helps; removal of the content; a warning; a restriction on a feature or a studio; suspension of an account; or permanent termination.
- For credible threats, child safety concerns, or content that is illegal, we may remove content and suspend accounts immediately while we investigate.
- We may preserve the relevant records as evidence, and we cooperate with Roblox and with law enforcement where an investigation requires it.
- Moderation decisions are recorded in the audit log so there is a record of what was done and why.
8.Appeals
If we acted on your account and you believe it was a mistake, send us a message through the contact form within 30 days with the subject Moderation appeal. Explain what happened and include anything that supports your account of it. A different member of the team reviews the decision, and we reply with the outcome. Repeated or clearly unfounded appeals may be declined.
9.Moderating your own studio
Studio owners and project administrators are the first line of moderation inside their own teams. You can remove a member from a studio or project, which revokes their access immediately, and you can delete records they created. If the conduct is unsafe rather than simply unproductive, report it to us as well, because only we can act on an account across the platform.
10.If you posted something you should not have
Tell us and we will help you remove it. If you have posted personal information about a minor, reported it yourself so we can take it down quickly. We would rather fix a mistake than punish it.
11.Copyright and intellectual property
Complaints about copied or misused assets, models, artwork, audio or code are handled through the copyright and intellectual property process described in the terms of service. That process also covers repeated infringement and account termination.
12.Changes to this page
We review these standards as the platform and its community grow, and we will update the date at the top of this page when we change anything material.
